Looking for a family-friendly way to declutter, give back, and teach your kids about sustainability? Head along to the Randwick Toy Swap at The Saturday Circle on Saturday 13 September, 10am–12pm at the Randwick Sustainability Hub (27 Munda Street, Randwick).
Hosted by the Joy of Giving Network in partnership with Randwick City Council, this event is all about reusing, sharing, and reducing waste while having fun as a community.
How it works
Bring along toys, games, or books that your children have outgrown (in good condition, clean, and working order) and swap them for something “new-to-you.” Kids will love the excitement of choosing different treasures to take home while learning the value of reusing instead of discarding.
What to bring:
-
Toys, books, and games in good condition
-
Battery-operated items must have working batteries and secured cases
-
One bag of items plus one large item per family
Simple swap rule: If it’s good enough for your friend’s child, it’s perfect for the swap.
Broken or unsuitable toys won’t be accepted, but you can recycle some through programs like Big W’s Toys for Joyinitiative.
Why join?
-
Teach kids the joy of sharing and sustainability
-
Reduce landfill and help the planet
-
Connect with local families in a relaxed, community setting
The Toy Swap is part of The Saturday Circle, a monthly gathering at the Randwick Sustainability Hub where locals come together to repair, share, reuse, and build resilience. It’s a great chance to meet others who care about making a difference.
✨ Tip for families: Arrive early for the best selection and make a morning of it by exploring all that The Saturday Circle has to offer!
