Families in Little Bay have a fantastic new place to play, exercise and connect, with the reopening of Woomera Reserve Playground and Outdoor Gym. Randwick City Council has officially unveiled the upgraded space, transforming the reserve into a welcoming hub for children, parents and the wider community.

The revitalised park now offers a modern playground, a fully equipped outdoor gym and upgraded recreational facilities, creating a vibrant destination for locals of all ages.

A Playground Designed with Families in Mind

The new playground has been thoughtfully designed with input from local families to ensure children of different ages can enjoy the space.

Kids can climb, swing and explore a range of all-timber play equipment, including a fun balance trail, in-ground trampoline, and a popular nest swing perfect for group play. Safety and comfort were also key priorities, with rubber soft-fall surfaces, taller shade sails for sun protection and additional seating installed so parents and carers can relax while the kids play.

The result is a natural, family-friendly playground where children can stay active and imaginative while enjoying the outdoors.

Outdoor Fitness Equipment for the Whole Community

Alongside the playground, the reserve now features Little Bay’s first outdoor gym, giving locals a free and convenient way to stay active.

The fitness area includes a variety of equipment suitable for beginners through to experienced users, including:

  • Pull-down station

  • Elliptical trainer

  • Chest press

  • Leg press

  • Aerobic cycle

  • Sit-up bench

  • Parallel bars

  • Pull-up bars

It’s the perfect setup for parents wanting to fit in a workout while their children play nearby, or for teens and adults looking for an outdoor exercise option close to home.

Upgraded Basketball Court

The improvements don’t stop there. The basketball court at Woomera Reserve has also been upgraded and is now marked as an official half court, making it ideal for friendly games, practice sessions or casual shooting hoops with friends.

A Great Local Park for Families

With its new playground, outdoor gym and upgraded facilities, Woomera Reserve is set to become a favourite spot for Little Bay families looking for somewhere to play, exercise and spend time outdoors together.

Whether you’re planning an afternoon playdate, a family picnic or a quick workout while the kids explore the playground, this refreshed local park offers something for everyone.
