Attention filmmakers, storytellers, and creative minds! The Stinkwater24 Film Festival is back, and you’re invited to participate in this thrilling 24-hour filmmaking challenge from Friday, September 13th, to Sunday, September 15th, 2024. This is your chance to create a short film under intense time pressure, showcase your talent, and compete for prestigious awards, including a $1,000 Grand Prize.
Event Schedule:
Friday, September 13th – Kick-Off!
- 6:00 PM: Registrations Close & Festival Brief Released
Join us upstairs at the Ritz Cinema to receive your Team Bag, which contains all the essentials to get started. The brief will also be emailed to all teams. Once you have the brief, it’s time to start planning your film, capture some B-Roll, and maybe even shoot the first few scenes. But don’t forget—get a good night’s sleep to be ready for the big day!
Saturday, September 14th – Film It!
- All Day: Filming Begins!
It’s time to gather your actors, scout locations, and bring your story to life while adhering to the festival brief. Remember, the Ritz Cinema will be available for support throughout the day, including access to on-request actors. - Submit Your Film:
Once your film is complete, submit it and take a well-deserved rest.
Sunday, September 15th – Showtime!
- 6:00 AM: Absolute Submission Deadline
The clock stops at 6 AM sharp. Be sure to submit your film before this DROPDEAD time to be considered for awards. - 6:00 PM: Finalist Screenings & Audience Award Voting
The top 15 entries will be showcased on the big screen at the Ritz Cinema, followed by audience voting for the Audience Award. - 7:30 PM: Awards Gala Ceremony
Join us for the celebration of creativity and hard work! Multiple awards will be presented, culminating in the announcement of the $1,000 Grand Prize winner. It could be you!
What is the Festival Brief?
The brief will consist of around 20 elements, including PLACES, ITEMS, and DIALOGUE. To qualify, your film must incorporate 5 of these elements, with at least two being PLACES. This ensures that your film was created specifically for the Stinkwater24 Film Festival.
Festival Update (August 21, 2024):
Due to high demand, we are limiting entries to 30 teams and will showcase the top 15 films before the Awards. We are working with the Ritz Cinema to extend our booking to screen all other entries after the Awards. Additionally, all films will be available on our YouTube account for viewing.
