Have you seen the draft design for the upgrade of Robertson Park Playground in Watsons Bay?

Woollahra Council is upgrading Robertson Park Playground to make it more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. They’ve created a draft plan for the playground based on community feedback. The idea was to create a playground which can cater for kids in many different age groups and with differing abilities. Top of the list in what people asked for were more swings and new slides! Wadhangarii: a new public artwork in Bay Street, Double Bay

A stunning public artwork named Wadhangarii, the first commission in the Woollahra local area created by a First Nations artist, has been unveiled in Double Bay. The artwork has been placed at the end of Bay Street near the ferry wharf, Steyne Park playground and the popular harbour foreshore promenade. Wadhangarii, meaning Coastal Banksia in the language of the Dharawal People, was created by First Nations artist Penny Evans and commissioned by Woollahra Council as part of the Bay Street Pedestrian Upgrade Project funded by the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program. Woollahra Council Celebrates National Volunteer Week by Shining a Light on these Amazing Volunteers

As part of National Volunteer Week (19–25 May 2025), Woollahra Council is proudly celebrating the outstanding contributions of the more than 150 volunteers who support our local community all year round. These volunteers play a vital role across many areas—helping out in our libraries, contributing to exhibitions at the Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf, participating in environmental efforts through Bushcare and HarbourCare, and so much more. Recycle It Saturday makes it easy for Sydney, Woollahra and Waverly Council residents to recycle tricky household items. Drive and drop off clothes in great condition, old electronics, small metal items, bicycles, polystyrene, x-ray scans and more. Quarterly, free. Recycle It Saturday is a partnership between City of Sydney, Waverley Council and Woollahra Municipal Council. The council  can only accept items from residents who live in these local council areas.
