Sydney Writers’ Festival Launches First-Ever Family Day at the State Library of NSWSydney Writers’ Festival is introducing its very first Family Day, bringing a full day of stories, creativity and hands-on fun to the State Library of New South Wales on Sunday 23 November 2025. This exciting new event is part of the Festival’s expanded year-round program, proudly delivered in partnership with the State Library and supported by the NSW Government.
Created especially for young readers, curious minds and creative kids, Family Day offers a relaxed and engaging program filled with free sessions and affordable workshops. Children can read, write, draw, sing and dream alongside some of Australia’s favourite storytellers, illustrators and authors.
Expect a welcoming, low-pressure atmosphere where families can explore books and creativity together – no need for whispering or tiptoeing. Whether you’ve got a budding writer, an avid reader or a little one who simply loves a good story, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a Sunday in one of Sydney’s most iconic cultural spaces.
