Quay Quarter Lanes Markets will launch on Wednesday November 9 at Customs  House Square, Sydney, with an oyster giveaway for shoppers from 12pm.

The free oysters will be hand shucked on site by Sydney seafood legend  Stephen Hodges, of Fishface fame, and given to shoppers, until stocks run  out.

The giveaway coincides with the first day of this produce market that will be held  on the second Wednesday of each month at Customs House Square on Alfred  Street in Sydney.

The Quay Quarter Lanes Market will feature the very best producers, providores,  farmers, bakers and makers from across Sydney and NSW. Local businesses will  also be participating in the market, with beautiful pastries and coffee from the  nearby Grana restaurant, while Zini Gelato will be selling their luscious gelatos,  Bubble Nini will be offering bubble teas and Adora Handmade Chocolates will  have their delicious treats.

From Cambridge Markets’ list of stallholders, the market will feature the likes of  Brickfields Bakery, Taylor Made Tea, Le Saucier sauces, the Honey Library, Botega  1900 smallgoods, Karu Distillery, Farmer and Sons fresh fruit and veg from the  farm at Coleambally and surrounding farms in Riverina, and Rita’s organic  produce. Flowers will be from Mayfarm Flowers.

“This is all about bringing high-quality fresh produce and goods to the city and  about connecting farmers and producers with people who live and work in the  CBD,” says Cambridge Markets’ Bec Fox.

“The great thing about markets is the connections they bring between consumer  and maker and we think this is a special opportunity to bring the bush to the  streets of Sydney.

“We can’t wait to give away heaps of oysters to customers who come and check  out this wonderful new market. It will be a great day.”

The market is supported by City of Sydney and Quay Quarter Lanes and will run  from 8am-2pm monthly.
