Sydney is set to turn green this March as St Patrick’s Day celebrations return to The Rocks, bringing six days of Irish charm, street parties, live music and delicious food to one of the city’s most iconic precincts.

From 12–17 March 2026, families, friends and visitors are invited to soak up the festive atmosphere as The Rocks hosts more than 20 events, along with exclusive dining specials, outdoor entertainment and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the famous Irish spirit.

Whether you’re looking for family-friendly activities, great live music or a lively pub atmosphere, The Rocks is shaping up to be Sydney’s ultimate St Patrick’s Day destination.

A Festival Full of Irish Spirit

The celebrations are anchored by the beloved Sydney St Patrick’s Day Festival weekend, transforming First Fleet Parkinto a hub of Irish culture.

Taking place on 14–15 March, the free festival will feature live Irish music, traditional dancing and family entertainment, creating a lively atmosphere where visitors of all ages can experience the magic of Irish culture right in the heart of Sydney Harbour.

Free Outdoor Cinema Under the Stars

The festivities kick off on Thursday 12 March with a free outdoor cinema screening of the much-loved musical film Sing Street.

Grab some popcorn, relax under the stars and enjoy a night of music and nostalgia. For those wanting to embrace the Irish theme, you can even pair the movie with a classic pint of Guinness while watching.

The Legendary Mercantile Street Party

One of the highlights of the celebration is the annual street party at The Mercantile on Sunday 15 March.

George Street will transform into an emerald-green party zone as thousands of revellers gather for live Irish bands, traditional dancers, authentic food stalls and plenty of Guinness on tap. The Mercantile is famous for hosting one of Sydney’s biggest St Patrick’s Day street celebrations, and this year promises to be bigger than ever.

A Traditional Irish Breakfast on St Patrick’s Day

On Tuesday 17 March, the celebrations continue with a traditional St Patrick’s Day breakfast at The Mercantile.

Guests can enjoy a hearty Irish breakfast paired with Irish coffee or a creamy pint of Guinness, while live music and dancing set the festive tone for the day. Lucky Sydneysiders also have the chance to win two tickets to this special breakfast event, promising great food, lively entertainment and plenty of Irish cheer.
