Get ready to embark on a journey of holiday cheer as South Eveleigh introduces the exciting  Summer Express, a unique advent-style calendar of daily holiday fun set to roll into town from  Tuesday 21st November through to Saturday 23 December. The historic site of Sydney’s  Locomotive Workshops will become a kaleidoscope of colour and activity for 5-weeks of free,  fun events including Santa sightings, live music, pop-up games, festive food and drink offerings  and family-friendly entertainment. Enter via Redfern Station and you’ll encounter a dazzling tunnel installation, featuring an arch  displaying clashes of intricate patterns and vibrant colours. Hop aboard the trackless train for a  whimsical adventure that will wind its way through the myriad of activity and entertainment  happening on the Summer Express Stage, in Play Town, Locomotive Street and the Village  Green.

The Summer Express Stage at Innovation Plaza will become the central hub of fun and  celebration, hosting a lively line-up of entertainment each week, including DJ sets, Breko’s  Music Bingo and live performances by Mary Heart, Declan Kelly, Old Skool Funk and more.  Come Saturday, kids entertainers will hit the stage including Aussie kids band The Vegetable  Plot.

Level up your fun factor at the Play Town game area. This designated fun zone at Innovation  Plaza will host a range of games such as hoops, ping pong, ring toss, cornhole, and chess. Join  the Game On competition from Tuesday – Friday, 12-2pm for a chance to win prizes, or free  play at your own leisure any time. The games will rotate weekly providing endless entertainment  for all ages.

Tuesday – Fridays the Village Green offers a grassy haven for visitors to sit back, relax, and  indulge in a little down time. Have a cuddle and snuggle with a Delta Therapy dog, or relax to  the sounds of Victor Valdes, his Latin harp and mariachi band, jazz and swing tunes by Cope  Street Parade or the musical stylings of First Nations (Wiradjuri) musician Blanche, whose  impressive range spans from alternative rock to RnB.

Each Saturday, Summer Express will offer a variety of family-friendly entertainment. With Santa  visiting between 11am and 2pm, live music, face painting and pop-up performances featuring  magicians, gravity-defying hula-hoopers on roller skates and much more, there’s something for  everyone. For the little explorers, there’s a Kids Play Area open from 9am to 3pm with a fantastic ball pit waiting to be conquered, and a colourful soft play area that sparks their  imaginations. Come 6pm BrewDog South Eveleigh will take over the entertainment, bringing  DJs playing some of the best sing-along bops of the last few decades.
