New Bus Service a Win for Eastern Suburbs Families and Students
Getting around Randwick City just got easier! Transport for NSW has introduced a brand-new bus service, making travel more convenient for families, mums, and students in the Eastern Suburbs. The newly launched Route 393 now operates between Matraville and Westfield Eastgardens, providing a much-needed transport link for the community.
The service, which began on 3 March 2025, offers five off-peak services in each direction from Monday to Saturday. It connects Matraville, south of Franklin Street near the Matraville Hotel, with the bustling shopping hub of Westfield Eastgardens, making it a handy option for school runs, shopping trips, and daily commutes.
More Buses, More Convenience
The introduction of Route 393 is part of a broader effort by Transport for NSW to improve public transport across South East Sydney. Other enhancements to local bus routes include:
- 10 additional morning peak trips per week on Route 390X between La Perouse and Bondi Junction.
- 55 extra trips per week on Route 392, improving connections from Little Bay to Redfern.
These changes mean more reliable and frequent public transport options for Eastern Suburbs residents, helping families, students, and commuters get where they need to go with ease.

Transport for NSW encourages passengers to plan ahead using the Transport Trip Planner, ensuring a smooth journey on the new and improved bus services.
