OzHarvest’s Cooking for a Cause program is a very special way to connect with our mission and give back to the community. Held here in our kitchen, OzHarvest chefs teach zero-waste cooking skills and discover amazing tips and tricks while transforming rescued ingredients into gourmet meals that support people in need.

We’re welcoming kids into the kitchen with their parents/caregivers during the holidays to experience the Cooking for a Cause magic! These sessions have been designed for both kids and adults to enjoy together and strikes the perfect balance – not too basic for the adults, and not too complex for the kids! Together, families have some fun creating delicious meals that will be distributed to charities across Sydney that support people in need.

Our aim is to inspire and empower young minds, the future change-makers of Australia to not only explore the joy of cooking but also understand the importance of giving back to those in need. By involving kids in the kitchen, we’re not merely teaching them culinary skills; we’re sowing seeds of compassion, generosity, and community service. Each dish becomes a symbol of hope and a lesson in the incredible impact of uniting for positive change.

Kids Cooking For A Cause is open to the public and welcomes kids aged 8 and above (or over 90cm tall), accompanied by an adult. Each adult can bring a maximum of two children for FREE!
