A much needed new playground has arrived in the east! The amazing new playground at Inglis Park in the brand new Newmarket Precinct is now open for families to now enjoy.
The design suits both littles ones and older kids to help challenge physical and motor skills (all builds resilence!) and the grand structure definitely stands out along with the main spiral slide which is a main feature of the playground structure.
There are various swing structures and soft surfaces for new walkers and toddlers to explore plus climb!
Located: Newmarket Precinct Young Street Randwick (opposite POW Hosptial and near the old Stables)
Parking: Current very limited, you can try your luck with street parking in Young Street or Barker Street or Avoca Street but note parking signs and time limits. There is a bus stop in the front of Prince of Wales Hospital on Barker Street if you come by public transport
Other suggestions are walk if nearby or park in Randwick Shopping area and walk down on a nice day would only take 10-15mins down Avoca Street. Likewise if you get the tram to Randwick Station you can walk down from there along Avoca Street.

Toilets: One of the things we noticed has been overlooked ! (playgrounds and toilets/nappy change should always be considered) Currently only amenities available are via the cafes (Cafe McKenzie and Cali Press where you will need to ask for a key + possibly to purchase something in good support of local business! ) Take nappy change mats and encourage toddlers to use the loo before you leave home as currently less than ideal.
Services – Plenty of new cafes to get food and the much needed coffee or take your own as there are lovely BBQ facilities and seating areas. Plenty of areas for shade and also winter sunshine when relevant.
Overall it’s a really well designed playground just needs some thought into who is using it and the reality of visiting parks with young children and what support families need so they enjoy their time there and want to stay a reasonable amount of time.
