Hi! I’m Mandi, wife, house manager, social organiser, family financial controller, business owner and mum to 2 wild boys – jack of all trades as most mums are!
After having my 2nd son, I decided to swap my corporate life to allow more flexibility for my family. I launched an online ecommerce store and after recently selling this I joined my dad’s well-established pest control company ( www.pestoz.com.au ) providing pest control to most of Sydney Eastern Suburbs homes and businesses with the hope to expand the business even further.
Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east?
I was born in Bondi and have lived in the Eastern Suburbs beaches (Bondi, Rose Bay, Maroubra and now Coogee) my entire life; best place in the world if you ask me.
Three words that describe what it’s like to live in the eastern suburbs?
Beautiful, relaxed, exciting
How many children?
2 energetic boys; Zac 9 and Jake 5
Favourite Park?
Centennial Park for sure! I had my first birthday party there and have been going all my life. It’s got something for everyone.
Favourite Beach?
Used to be Bondi but have to say Coogee and Clovelly now.
Favourite kids’ friendly cafe?
I absolutely love taking the kids to The Grounds. Coffee is amazing and there’s always so much to explore there.
Favourite Coffee Spot?
Stevie & Marli in Coogee! This is my daily coffee spot straight after gym. Coffee is great and the owner is so lovely!
Favourite date night place?
I love the food and fun vibe at Totties Bondi – definitely a regular date night for hubby and I. Plus they do the best Tommy’s margaritas 😉
Where in the east have you yet to explore and would like to go?
I love going for coastal walks but surprisingly I’ve never done the hermitage walk so this is definitely on my list to explore.
What would you like to see improve in the eastern suburbs?
With 2 boys at such different ages, it’s hard to find activities they both like. I’d really love to see more playgrounds that cater to older kids too.
Favourite Local Shop?
I love By San Sebastian in Coogee. They have such a great mix of clothes, accessories and gifts for everyone. You can always find a cool present there.
Favourite wet weather location?
Home! When it’s wet and cold outside there’s nothing better than staying home and watching movies or playing games.
Favourite Local family Weekend Activity?
I love going back to basics! A perfect Sunday for me is going out for breakfast and then spending the day swimming and building sandcastles on the beach followed by a BBQ at home.
Work or SAHM?
Together with my dad, we own a local pest control company – www.pestoz.com.au – we do lots of local family homes and businesses within the eastern suburbs.
He has owned the business for over 15 years, and I have recently joined to help grow and expand the company with him.
Motherly advice?
Everything is a phase and will pass. Every stage with kids is different (some good, some bad) so while it’s hard sometimes try being present and keep communication open so they always feel safe talking to you.
