A true icon of Sydney, The Rocks Markets is undergoing a refresh, with new makers and artisans joining original vendors to bring the best bites, live beats and local crafts to this historic harbourside spot.
To welcome in the new home of originality and creativity, The Rocks Markets is celebrating with a community taster event, Meet the Makers, on the 15 & 16 April, where Sydneysiders can enjoy a weekend of celebrations. Locals can shop for unique arts and homewares, devour tasty treats, enjoy live music and take part in free workshops and special trader experiences with some of the makers themselves.
From 10am – 5pm, the two day celebration will see Sydney-based creators from Leather Trading Co. (the home of bespoke handmade leather) Emilio Frank Design (unique colourful art), and Jonima Flowers (beautiful florals), and Store Tresor (gorgeous resin craft) all sharing their wisdom. Visitors will experience a program of surprise pop-up maker demonstrations, tastings, trader interviews and experiences throughout the market’s footprint, and they’re all free to attend for just one weekend!

Flower Arranging with Jonima Flowers
Join Ingrid from Jonima Flowers as she guides you to create your own bouquet arrangement to display at home. In this hands-on session, you will select seasonal florals and learn the tips and tricks on flower care and how to make your arrangement last longer.

Art Workshop with Emilio Frank Design
Join Shana from Emilio Frank Design in this colourful and creative workshop, where you’ll explore geometric abstraction using collage and drawing. Shana will share the inspirations and processes that inform her artworks, textiles, greeting cards, and jewellery.

Commander Wallet Workshop with The Leather Trading Co.
Join Rodney from The Leather Trading Co., as he guides you to create the most famous and original Australian leather wallet. Each wallet comes with a lifetime warranty and will fit up to 10 cards and 15 Australian notes.

Terrazzo Workshop with Store Tressor
Join Claire from Store Tresor, as she guides you to create your own resin terrazzo coaster set. In this hands-on session, you will learn the whole process from designing, mixing pigment to resin, casting, sanding and sealing.

The Rocks Markets will bring the best in food, art, design, music, and wellness to Sydney every Saturday and Sunday. Market revellers can take part in free yoga classes, meet traders, watch demonstrations, shop for original artwork and jewellery, or enjoy market bites from newly added unique food producers such as Produce From Orange, Tuga Pastries and Brickfields Bakery.
Share food with friends and family and head to the new chill out spaces in one of Sydney’s best kept secret, Dawes Point Park. Lay back, relax and take in the serene water views on a picnic rug or table under the shade of the iconic Harbour Bridge. While you’re there discover your new favourite local band, solosist or DJ, with a diverse roster of artists and voices slated for each weekend of the Markets.
The Rocks Markets will be adding a plethora of new stalls to their ranks with the addition of Marie River Distillery and Rodger & Peach, joining existing vendors like Eloise Panetta, Emilio Frank Design, Oria Studio, Amacyn Natural Perfume and the Emporium of Chocolate.
