There’s something special about discovering a new artist before everyone else does — and Maroubra Sound Waves is your chance to do just that. This beachfront event shines a spotlight on the next generation of local performers, giving young musicians, singers and DJs the opportunity to take to a big stage, share their original sounds and build confidence in front of a live audience.

For families with music-loving kids and teens, it’s an inspiring afternoon that shows what’s possible when creativity is encouraged and talent is supported. Expect fresh voices, original songs and high-energy performances from young artists who are already making waves in the local music scene — many of them performing in front of large crowds for the very first time.

On Saturday 31 January 2026, the Maroubra Beach Promenade will transform into a vibrant outdoor music hub from 4.30pm to 7pm, filled with live performances, summer vibes, stalls and activities. The crowd plays a big role too, with audiences invited to vote for the performer they think deserves the title of Maroubra Sound Waves 2026 Champion.

Adding to the excitement is a special guest performance by Andrew Lambrou, bringing extra buzz to this free community celebration of youth talent.
