Waverley’s Love the Coast Photography Competition is back for 2026, inviting the community to capture the beauty of our coastline — from sandy beaches and rock pools to the underwater world beneath the waves. This popular annual event celebrates everything we love about living by the sea.

Whether you’re a skilled photographer or simply love taking photos on your phone, everyone is welcome to enter.

Why Families and Kids Will Love This Competition

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to spend time outdoors exploring the coastline together. Kids can learn to look closely at nature, practise creativity, and discover new ways to see the world around them.

A family walk becomes an exciting photo adventure, and children get the thrill of entering a real competition — with the chance to have their work displayed at Waverley Library. It’s a fun, screen-free activity that encourages imagination, observation and appreciation of our local environment.
