Looking for a fun way to nurture your child’s imagination (and enjoy a little creative play yourself)? The Little Artistsworkshops at Juanita Nielsen Community Centre are the perfect chance for children aged 2–5 years to explore art in a playful, hands-on environment.

Led by professional art educator Sam Relihan, each session combines storytelling, sensory play and art-making, creating a welcoming space where little ones can get messy, experiment and learn. Best of all, parents, grandparents and carers are encouraged to join in – making it a wonderful bonding experience too.

What to expect

Each workshop introduces a new theme to spark curiosity and creativity:

  • 14 August: My favourite meal

  • 28 August: If I were an animal

  • 11 September: Sound and noise

  • 25 September: Toys

  • 9 October: Making art to music

  • 23 October: Lines

Children will have fun experimenting with different materials, developing fine motor skills, and letting their imagination run wild.

Why families will love it

  • Affordable creative play – just $5 per child (ticket includes a carer).

  • A relaxed, social environment to meet other local families.

  • Activities tailored for ages 2–5, balancing play and learning.

  • A chance for carers to roll up their sleeves and enjoy the fun too!
