Surf’s up – and play is on the way at Maroubra Beach!
Randwick City Council is upgrading the Maroubra Beach playground, and we’re inviting the community to help shape the final design. Thanks to your feedback so far, the proposed plans are packed with exciting new features to make the space more fun, inclusive, and family-friendly.
🎉 What’s Coming
You asked for more adventure, and we listened. The draft concept includes:
-
A lifeguard-themed play tower with two slides, a climbing net, and fireman pole
-
Swings for all ages – including toddler, junior, and nest swing options
-
A new sandpit play area with a wheelchair-accessible play table
-
A double flying fox for an extra thrill
-
More trees, garden beds, and natural shade
-
Picnic tables and benches for relaxed beachside breaks
We’re keeping the existing concrete path, garden bed, lawn area, fencing, shade sails, and established trees. To make room for the upgraded playground, the outdoor gym will be relocated to the southern end of the beach.
This project is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Local Small Commitment Allocation Grant Program, in partnership with Randwick City Council.
