Nurses across Australia are struggling under the weight of difficult conditions and inflexible and long working hours. So when registered nurse and mum of two, Jacinta Monckton, decided to open her own cosmetic injectables clinic, she wasn’t chasing status, she was chasing balance, purpose and freedom.

After years of working long hospital shifts and navigating the juggle of motherhood, Monckton discovered a business model that allowed her to use her clinical expertise, work family-friendly hours and directly help people build self-confidence.
“I love being a registered nurse, but I want a role that will let me still care for people, just in a different way,” Monckton said.
“Owning my own Cosmetique franchise means I can support my patients to feel their best while having time for my children and family. It’s the best of both worlds.”
Monckton said that walking away from the health system and into her own cosmetic injectables franchise where she can dictate her own hours and build long term relationships with patients helping them to feel better about themselves was one of the best things she has ever done.

As a registered nurse, Monckton is trained and experienced in performing procedures that involve injectables. In her clinic, she focuses on helping people achieve positive, natural-looking outcomes, addressing symmetry concerns, age-related changes and aesthetic balance to enhance people’s self-confidence.
“Cosmetic injectables aren’t about changing who someone is,” she said.
“They’re about helping people feel more confident, refreshed and comfortable in their own skin.”
Monckton is also introducing PRP facials, often known as vampire facials, to her clinic.
A vampire facial is a cosmetic treatment that uses the patient’s own blood to rejuvenate the skin, combining a microneedling procedure with the application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets from the plasma. A microneedling device then creates tiny punctures in the skin and the PRP is either applied topically or injected to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
The goal is to improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles, minimise scars and achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance, all through the body’s natural healing process.

A business built on care — not corporate politics
Jacinta joined Cosmetique in early 2025 in the newly created Customer Service Excellence role, helping to improve patient experience across the group’s growing national network. When the company announced its franchise program this year, she didn’t hesitate.
“I’d seen how well the clinics performed and how genuine the culture was. There’s no medical politics, just great people who care deeply about their patients and each other,” she said.
“It made the decision easy.”
Now, only months after opening her Baldivis clinic, Jacinta is already planning to purchase a second franchise, driven by strong community demand and a thriving local client base.
Flexibility and future growth for nurses
Cosmetique CEO Dr Vivek Eranki said Jacinta embodies the new generation of entrepreneurial health professionals who are choosing independence over the traditional health system.
“Our franchise model gives nurses the chance to run their own clinics with full operational and marketing support, while still doing what they love most: helping people,” Dr Eranki said.
The growth of the cosmetic injectables industry is now providing nurses with a genuine pathway to stay within the health and wellness sector, but on their own terms, with better pay, improved conditions, greater flexibility and stronger career satisfaction.
“Jacinta’s success shows what’s possible when passion, professionalism and purpose align. She’s building an incredible business that delivers both lifestyle and financial freedom.”
Empowering women through business ownership
Cosmetique’s franchise model is attracting nurses, clinicians and professionals nationwide who want to combine clinical care with business ownership. With low entry costs, proven profitability and comprehensive support, the model provides a clear path to success.
Monckton said the transition has been life-changing.
“I never imagined I’d be a business owner, but it’s given me more control, confidence and time with my kids. I’m proud to be part of a brand that celebrates women in business and puts patient wellbeing at the centre of everything,” Monckton said.
“Nursing is rewarding, but it is also challenging. Working in the hospital system is gruelling. The hours are long and often nurses are not treated very well by doctors and administrators. People like myself get into nursing to help people, however I didn’t realise how badly we would be treated once I was in the system.
“There are few pathways for a registered nurse outside of the hospital system but now, thanks to the significant growth of the cosmetic injectables sector, we now have the ability to transfer our skills and passion into an industry that welcomes us and also provides us with the ability to lead our own lives through business and entrepreneurship.
“I am loving my franchise business with Cosmetique and can’t wait to grow more sites.”
