
Looking for an engaging, educational and totally free after-school activity that sparks your child’s creativity? The City of Sydney’s Maker and Creator Workshops at Darling Square Library are a fantastic option for curious kids aged 8 to 12.
Held fortnightly in the purpose-built makerspace, these workshops are a hands-on introduction to digital technology, simple robotics and fun crafting – perfect for tech-loving kids or anyone who enjoys building and making.

What Your Child Will Do
Each fortnight, kids will explore a new theme or set of tools, including:

Spheros and Ozobots – program these mini-robots to move and respond

Edison Robots – friendly robot battles while learning basic coding

Wind Tube Challenges – build and test flying creations

LED Circuits – create light-up projects using conductive tape
Each session mixes tech and creativity, and while some activities may repeat, no two workshops are exactly the same.
