There’s nothing quite like the unmistakable scent of a fresh Christmas tree, that bright, piney aroma that fills a home and signals the start of the festive season. For hundreds of Sydney families each year, that smell comes from one place: Elizabeth Springs Christmas Trees, a proudly family-run business with more than 20 years of history and three generations of the Geddes family behind every tree.

The story of Elizabeth Springs is rooted in a small village in the Southern Highlands – Wingello – where Scott spent his childhood on his grandparents’ farms. Those early years shaped his love of the land and deep appreciation for hard work, family, and tradition. Today, that legacy continues through the Christmas tree farm, where every tree is planted, cared for, harvested, and transported by the Geddes family themselves.

For over two decades, the trees have been grown on the family’s property with a commitment to sustainable, hands-on farming. Their trees are proudly pesticide-free, nurtured naturally from seedlings to fully shaped Christmas centrepieces. What makes Elizabeth Springs truly special is that the same family who plants the trees is the one you’ll meet when you come to choose yours, ensuring care, quality, and authenticity every step of the way.

For the past 12 years, Scott and his wife Erin have travelled from the farm to Sydney each December to bring their freshly cut trees to the Eastern Suburbs community. Their business is locally owned and deeply personal, balancing their professional careers with a shared passion for continuing their family tradition.

While hailing originally from the outside the city, Scott is very much part of the fabric of his local Maroubra community. You might recognise him from his NRL career with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. A loyal one-club player, Scott represented the Rabbitohs across more than a decade, known for his strength, leadership, and commitment on and off the field. Or perhaps, training locals in their Maroubra beachside gym, First Grade Fitness, which he’s been running since retirement.

Together, Scott and Erin have grown Elizabeth Springs Christmas Trees into a beloved seasonal staple for families across the Eastern Suburbs. Customers return not only for the stunning, farm-fresh trees, but for the experience of purchasing from a family who pours their heart into the season.

Trees are available each December at PCYC Eastern Suburbs in Daceyville, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, until sold out. Freshly harvested and cared for from the moment they leave the farm, these trees are known for their long-lasting fragrance and beautiful shape.
