Do you love our stunning coastline? Join us for the Waverley Marine BioBlitz and help uncover the incredible biodiversity that thrives in our local marine environment!

What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is an exciting community event where we work together to identify and record as many marine species as possible in a short period. Whether you’re a scientist, nature enthusiast, student, or simply curious about local marine life, this is your chance to make a real impact!

How to Get Involved

  • Explore the beach, rockpools, or even venture underwater to spot marine life.
  • Record your findings using the iNaturalist App or a checklist for younger participants.
  • Visit the Basecamp at Bondi Pavilion, where marine experts and scientists will be on hand to assist with species identification and answer your questions.
  • Join our pre-event webinar and access fact sheets to learn how to participate effectively.

Why Participate?

By taking part in the BioBlitz, you’ll contribute valuable data to help protect and understand Waverley’s marine biodiversity. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to connect with nature, meet like-minded people, and learn more about our coastal environment.
