Coogee Bay Road will transform into a magical winter playground next Wednesday, 22 July, as Coogee Winter Nights returns with an evening of live entertainment, fire pits, outdoor dining, family activities and free movies under the stars.
Running from 5.30pm to 9.00pm, the popular community event will see a section of Coogee Bay Road between Arden Street and Brook Street closed to traffic, creating a vibrant pedestrian-friendly festival celebrating the best of winter by the beach.
Three Winter Zones to Explore
Visitors can wander through three unique themed areas, each offering a different experience throughout the evening.
🎵 Live Entertainment Zone
Located at the beach end of Coogee Bay Road, the main stage will feature an exciting line-up of free live music and performances.
Entertainment includes:
- DJ Lady Chika opening the evening and performing between acts
- Welcome to Country and official speeches
- Soul Nights
- The Frocks
- Selecta Orchestra, closing out the night
🔥 Fire & Ice Activity Zone
The centre of the festival embraces the winter theme with interactive experiences for all ages.

Outdoor Dining in the Heart of Coogee
One of the highlights of Coogee Winter Nights is the opportunity to dine outdoors as local restaurants, cafés and retailers extend onto Coogee Bay Road.
The event has been developed in partnership with local businesses and the community, creating a lively street festival that supports the local dining and shopping precinct while giving visitors another reason to spend an evening in Coogee.

Road Closures
To allow the event to take place safely, Coogee Bay Road between Arden Street and Brook Street will be closed from 3.00pm until 11.00pm, with bus detours operating during this time.
Visitors are encouraged to walk, ride a bike or use public transport to help reduce traffic congestion and minimise the environmental impact of the event.
