There’s nothing quite like kicking off the festive season by the ocean — and this year, Coogee Beach is bringing all the magic! On Monday 1 December, families across the Eastern Suburbs are invited to gather in front of the Rainbow Walkway at Goldstein Reserve for a joyful twilight celebration as Randwick City Council launches its 2025 Christmas program.

This much-loved annual tradition is the perfect way to welcome December with the kids. Picture balmy summer weather, the sun setting over Coogee, twinkling lights coming to life, and the sound of carols drifting across the beach. With live entertainment, delicious treats, and a show-stopping eight-metre interactive Christmas tree, it’s an event designed to delight both little ones and grown-ups.

Whether you’re looking for a fun after-school outing, a festive photo with Santa, or simply a beautiful community moment to share with your family, this free event is the ideal way to step into the holiday spirit. Bring a picnic rug, gather your crew, and settle in for an evening full of sparkle.
