Founded in 1885, St Andrew’s Cathedral School is an independent Anglican school, located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

Reflecting our Christian foundations, we are a strong and hopeful learning community that nurtures the individual strengths of each student in our care.

Following in the English choir school tradition, our School was initially created to educate choristers for St Andrew’s Cathedral.

With extensive sporting and co-curricular opportunities—from fencing, theatre sports, debating, dance and drama—we also have an outstanding outdoor education programme based at our property, Kirrikee, in the NSW Southern Highlands.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, our Middle School students are taught the NSW school curriculum through the IB Middle Years framework.

We are known for our performing arts programme with 25 music ensembles, including our outstanding Cathedral choristers.

This framework encourages: global mindedness, higher order thinking, and builds interdisciplinary connections. IB approaches to learning skills (ATL) are taught explicitly in this framework, enabling students in the middle years to ‘learn how to learn’ and providing a common language on the process of learning for teachers and their students.
