There’s something truly magical about Bondi as the sun sets and the temperature begins to drop. Think glowing firelight against the ocean, the sound of acoustic music drifting through the salty air, and families gathered together enjoying a relaxed evening on the sand. This is the atmosphere locals have come to love — and it’s all part of Bondi Firelight.

To welcome the cooler months, Waverley Council is bringing back this much-loved community event, inviting families, friends and neighbours to come together for a cosy night by the beach.

Set on the southern end of Bondi Beach, Bondi Firelight is all about simple pleasures and shared moments. Picture yourself sitting on a picnic rug, wrapped in a jumper, while the kids toast marshmallows over an open fire and live music sets the tone for the evening. There will also be fire twirlers and entertainment to keep everyone captivated as the night unfolds.

Families are encouraged to bring along their picnic blankets, snacks and even a guitar if they feel like joining in the musical vibe. The event has a relaxed, welcoming feel — perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a unique night out with the kids.

Importantly, Bondi Firelight is an alcohol-free event, making it a safe and family-friendly environment for all ages.

Whether you’re a Bondi local or looking for a memorable evening out in Sydney’s east, this is one event that captures the true spirit of community by the coast.
