Celebrate Australia’s rich natural, historic and Indigenous heritage at the 2025 Australian Heritage Festival — the country’s largest community-led heritage event. Now in its 45th year, the Festival invites visitors of all ages to explore a vibrant calendar of experiences that bring the past to life.

Kicking off on World Heritage Day, Thursday 18 April, and running through to Sunday 18 May, this year’s theme, ‘Unearthed’, will be explored through more than 150 events across NSW. From walking tours and exhibitions to performances, food tastings, demonstrations and cultural ceremonies, there’s something to discover for every interest and budget.

Events will take place across both metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW, highlighting the diverse stories and places that have shaped our state.

The Festival is led by the National Trust and proudly supported by the NSW Government through Heritage NSW. It also celebrates the National Trust Heritage Awards, the Festival’s major signature event.

Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or simply curious, the Australian Heritage Festival is your chance to connect with the stories and communities that define Australia.
