ANZAC Day is a solemn and significant occasion for our nation, a time for reflection and remembrance of the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women. Across the Waverley area, two commemorative services will be held to honour their memory and ongoing legacy.

Waverley ANZAC Day Commemorative Service

Date: Friday 25 April 2025
Time: 7:45am – 9:00am
Location: Waverley Memorial Gardens, Waverley Park

Waverley Council, in partnership with the Bondi Junction/Waverley RSL Sub-Branch, will host its annual ANZAC Day Commemorative Service at Waverley Memorial Gardens in Waverley Park. This important service honours the more than 8,000 Australian and New Zealand soldiers who lost their lives at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, as well as all those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Community members are warmly invited to take part in this public service and to participate in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Waverley Cenotaph. Light refreshments will be available in Waverley Park following the service, with attendees also welcome at Bondi Junction RSL for further commemorative gatherings.

North Bondi Dawn Service

Date: Friday 25 April 2025
Time: 6:00am – 7:00am
Location: North Bondi RSL

The North Bondi Sub-Branch of the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) will conduct its annual ANZAC Day Dawn Service outside North Bondi RSL. Commencing promptly at 6:00am, this early morning service is a deeply moving occasion for thousands of community members who gather by the shoreline to reflect and pay their respects.

Road Closures and Transport Information

Due to the expected high attendance, particularly at the North Bondi Dawn Service which draws close to 10,000 participants, temporary road closures will be in effect:

  • Campbell Parade and Ramsgate Avenue will be closed during the early hours of Friday 25 April, reopening at approximately 7:00am following the conclusion of the Dawn Service.

Public transport services will be adjusted during this period, with bus routes diverted. Community members are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and use public transport wherever possible. Visit Transport NSW for the latest service updates and trip planning tools.

Let us gather as a community on this day of national remembrance to honour those who served, those who fell, and those who continue to serve.
