ANZAC Day holds a deeply significant place in the hearts of Australians and New Zealanders. It is a day of national remembrance, honouring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of those who served and continue to serve our countries in times of conflict and peacekeeping. Each year, commemorative services are held at dawn, marking the moment of the original Gallipoli landing in 1915.

Coogee Dawn Service

The Coogee ANZAC Day Dawn Service will take place at 5:30am on Friday 25 April 2025 at Goldstein Reserve, Coogee. Presented in partnership with the Coogee Randwick Clovelly RSL Sub-Branch, this solemn occasion invites the community to pause, reflect, and pay tribute.

The service will include a Welcome to Country, prayers, laying of wreaths, the Last Post bugle call, a minute’s silence, and the national anthems of New Zealand and Australia, respectfully delivered in both Gadigal language and English. Special musical performances will also form part of the morning’s proceedings.

Council extends sincere thanks to the Coogee Randwick Clovelly, Kensington, Malabar, Maroubra, and Matraville RSL Sub-Branches, along with the Prince Henry Hospital Museum, for their enduring commitment to ANZAC Day commemorations across Randwick City.

Service Livestream

For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed via Randwick City Council’s Facebook page, ensuring all members of our community have the opportunity to participate in this important observance.

Road Closures & Public Transport Information

To ensure the safe and respectful delivery of the Coogee Dawn Service, the following road closures will be in effect on Friday 25 April from 5:00am to 7:30am:

  • Arden Street (Dolphin Street to Carr Street)

  • Coogee Bay Road (Vicar Street to Arden Street)

  • Alfreda Street at Arden Street

  • Dolphin Street, east from the Arden Street roundabout

Additionally, the Coogee Parking Area at 155-159 Dolphin Street (adjacent to Coogee Pavilion) will be closed from 5:00pm Thursday 24 April to 7:30am Friday 25 April.
