Looking for a fun and practical way to boost your child’s water confidence before summer? The City of Sydney’s Learn to Swim program is hosting FREE Come and Try Days across four local aquatic centres: Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre (Zetland), Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool (The Domain/Woolloomooloo Bay), Cook + Phillip Park Pool (Sydney CBD), and Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre (Ultimo). This special weekend event is designed for families in the Eastern Suburbs who want to experience the swim school first-hand, meet the teachers, and find the right swim level for their child—all at no cost.
Come and Try Days are perfect for parents of children aged 3 to 19 years who are considering swim lessons but want to try before they enrol. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to build on existing skills, this is a welcoming, no-pressure opportunity to experience a 10-minute one-on-one swim trial and assessment with a qualified swim teacher. You’ll receive a personalised level recommendation, helping you choose the right class for your child’s needs.
Water safety is essential, especially as summer approaches. These sessions help children build water confidence and essential life-saving skills in a supportive environment. Families can also enjoy free pool access, games, activities, refreshments, and the chance to explore their local centre. Plus, if you enrol in Learn to Swim during the event, you’ll receive a FREE first lesson and a limited-edition hooded swim school towel (while stocks last).
