As the HSC exams draw closer, students and families across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs can take advantage of a fantastic range of free study support at Woollahra Libraries. From drop-in tutoring and online study resources to extended opening hours and even complimentary hand massages, there’s plenty on offer to help students stay focused and prepared during one of the busiest times of the school year.

Whether you’re just starting your revision or putting the finishing touches on exam preparation, Woollahra Libraries has created a welcoming space to help students succeed.

Free HSC Tutoring

Need help with English or Mathematics? Students can attend free drop-in tutoring sessions with experienced HSC tutors.

The relaxed sessions are ideal for:

  • Asking questions about difficult topics
  • Working through challenging maths problems
  • Getting help with essay structure and extended responses
  • Building confidence before exams

When: Every Wednesday from 8 July to 5 August 2026

Bookings: No bookings required – simply drop in.

Extended Library Opening Hours

To give students more time to study in a quiet environment, Woollahra Library at Double Bay will extend its opening hours during the HSC study period.

Extended Hours

Monday 20 July – Thursday 20 August 2026

Monday 28 September – Thursday 5 November 2026

During these periods the library will remain open:

  • Monday to Thursday: Until 9:00pm
  • Friday: Normal opening hours
  • Weekends: Until 5:00pm

The extra hours give students more time to access study spaces, library collections, computers and online resources.

As an added bonus, students can also enjoy complimentary mini hand massages while studying—a thoughtful way to relax and relieve stress during exam preparation.

Free Online HSC Resources

A Woollahra Library membership also unlocks a wide range of digital learning tools that students can access from home.

These include:

  • Studiosity – Live online tutoring and writing feedback from qualified tutors.
  • Drama Online – Thousands of plays, performances and Royal Shakespeare Company productions to support English and Drama studies.
  • Digital HSC Resources – Including Brain Breaks, HSC survival tips and exam preparation tools.

Study Guides and HSC Collections

Students can also borrow from Woollahra Libraries’ extensive collection of HSC resources, including:

  • English texts
  • Study guides and crib notes
  • Essay writing resources
  • Time management books
  • IB study materials

Popular study series available include:

  • Excel
  • Macmillan

  • Cambridge Checkpoint

Students also have access to online research databases featuring full-text journal articles and abstracts, available both in the library and remotely.
