Looking for a simple way to support your child’s school while keeping your family active this winter? Our six-week ‘Swim & Gym for your School’ campaign is back for 2026, and it’s designed with parents and kids in mind.
By swimming or working out at your local City of Sydney aquatic and fitness centre, you can help your child’s school win $5,000 in programming*. Even better, if your child is enrolled in our Learn to Swim program, you can also go in the draw to win a free month of lessons!

Get your school involved
First step: make sure your child’s school is signed up.
Schools in the Sydney local government area (LGA) can register now to take part. If your school is not involved yet, you can help make it happen by sharing the registration link with them and speaking to a teacher or principal.

Why schools should get involved:
- The chance to win $5,000 for sport, swimming or wellbeing programs
- A fun way to build school pride and community connection
- Encourages healthy habits for students, families and staff

How parents can help their school win
Once schools are live on the leaderboard (from Monday 20 July to Sunday 30 August), it’s over to you.
Every time you visit one of our centres, you can earn points for your nominated school.
Here’s how it works:
- Visit your local City of Sydney aquatic and fitness centre
- After your swim or gym session, scan the campaign QR code
- Select your child’s school
- Each visit = points for your school
It’s that simple. Whether you’re doing laps, taking a class or fitting in a quick workout, your visit makes a difference.
Bonus for Learn to Swim families
If your child is part of our Learn to Swim program, there’s an extra reason to get involved. Every time you scan and vote, you’ll go into the weekly draw to win one month of free swim lessons.
It’s an easy way to support your child’s progress in the water while helping their school at the same time.
Make your visit count
To make sure your points are recorded correctly when you scan, you’ll need to:
- Answer a few quick questions, including the time of your visit
- Enter the daily secret code word (available at reception)
This helps keep the competition fair and accurate for all schools.

Keep an eye on the leaderboard
The school with the highest score (adjusted for school size) will take home the $5,000 prize.
Throughout the campaign, there will also be:
- Surprise bonus point opportunities
- Extra rewards for consistent visits
- Leaderboard updates so you can track your school’s progress
Stay active, support local, and be part of something your child will be proud of.
