Our incredible local lifeguards are stepping up for an inspiring cause this February — and it’s happening right here in the Eastern Suburbs.
On 27 February, Clovelly Beach will host the inaugural 24-Hour RUN-SWIM-RUN Challenge, as Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland joins forces with beach lifeguards from Randwick, Waverley and Sutherland Shire Councils. Together, they’ll push their physical and mental limits to raise vital funds for Suicide Prevention in our community.
For 24 continuous hours, these dedicated lifeguards — the same everyday heroes who keep our families safe on the sand — will run, swim and run again in an extraordinary show of endurance, teamwork and commitment.

This event is about more than fitness. It’s about starting conversations, showing solidarity, and supporting Lifeline’s essential services that so many Australians rely on during their most difficult moments.
Families are encouraged to head down to Clovelly Beach to watch the action live, cheer on the participants, and show support for this meaningful cause. It’s a powerful opportunity to talk with older kids about resilience, mental health awareness, and the importance of community support.
Bring a picnic rug, enjoy the beachside atmosphere and stand behind the lifeguards who are going the extra mile — literally — to help save lives.
Let’s show them how strong the Eastern Suburbs community can be.
