
Spring School Holidays are set to sparkle at Darling Harbour with a jam-packed program of fun for the whole family!
From Monday 29 September to Sunday 12 October, the precinct will transform into a playground of wonder, filled with dazzling entertainment, interactive workshops and experiences designed to fuel young imaginations.
Whether your little ones dream of exploring new worlds, creating stories of their own, or blasting off on space-themed adventures, there’s something to spark joy and creativity for kids of all ages this spring.

The Imagination Station at Pier Street Underpass | Thurs 2 Oct – Sun 5 Oct
- Russ the Story Bus: the colourful mobile travelling library from the Sydney Writers Festival will be filled with books, so kids can cosy up with a book or join special Storytime sessions with live readings from beloved authors and illustrators such as Matt Cosgrove, Ashleigh Barton, Nat Amoore and more!
- Craft Space Station: kids can let their imaginations soar as they design their very own spaceship, decorate an astronaut mask, build a rocket and more!
- Art Cube Creations: renowned illustrator James Gulliver Hancock has created giant ‘paint by numbers’ cubes, so that all you need to do is grab a brush and let your inner artist shine.
The Moon Festival at the Chinese Garden of Friendship & Darling Square | Sat 4 Oct – Sun 5 Oct
- Lantern decorating workshop: inspired by centuries-old Mid-Autumn Festival traditions, kids can create their own lanterns celebrating family, reunion and moonlight.
- Traditional Tea Ceremony: experience a moment of calm with an authentic tea ceremony and enjoy a sampling of mini mooncakes.
- Badge making workshop: design your own badge featuring iconic Moon Festival themes like the Jade Rabbit, Chang’e the Moon Goddess and the legendary archer Hou Yi.
- Enjoy glowing lanterns, live entertainment, tasty eats, and free family fun including LED lion dancing, clay mooncake workshops, and scavenger hunts in Darling Square from 27 Sep – 10 Oct.
Sydney Fringe Kids at Darling Quarter Theatre | Tues 30 Sept – Sun 5 Oct
- Bubba Licious: the perfect show for babbling babies and tireless toddlers, this sensory display of colour, sound, light and movement will spark joy and ignite wonder.
- Grossed out Gameshow: winner of Best Kids show at Sydney Fringe, this live and interactive game show will see two celebrity team captains lead their audience team in a battle of physical challenges and trivia.
