Waverley Council International Women’s Day Award 2025: Celebrating Camilla Franks

This special event, hosted by Waverley Council, will take place on Friday, 7th March 2025, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Theatre.

Camilla Franks, the renowned Bondi-based fashion designer, is being celebrated for her outstanding contributions to both the fashion industry and women’s empowerment. With her vibrant and artistic designs, Camilla has built her global brand, CAMILLA, which is now sold in 55 countries worldwide.

This event will feature a conversation with Camilla, where she will share her journey of success, challenges, and her ongoing commitment to empowering women both locally and internationally.

The conversation will be led by Michaela Kalowski, a seasoned interviewer, moderator, and curator, known for her work with renowned authors such as Margaret Atwood and Stan Grant.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Women’s Community Shelters (WCS), a vital organisation that provides safe accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence.

Women’s Community Shelters works tirelessly to provide short-term emergency accommodation and support to women escaping domestic violence. They aim to fill a critical gap in crisis accommodation, as more than half of women seeking shelter are turned away due to lack of space.
