Looking for a fun and educational way to spark your creativity with your kids? Or maybe you’re curious about the world of 3D printing and want to see what all the hype is about? Well, we’ve got just the event for you!

On Tuesday, 4th February 2025, Lionel Bowen Library in Maroubra is hosting an Intro to 3D Printing session from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. It’s a perfect opportunity for families to dive into the basics of 3D modelling and printing—an exciting and ever-evolving area of technology that’s now more accessible than ever.

What’s the Event About?

This session is designed for all ages and will introduce you to the basics of 3D modelling and 3D printing. Whether you’re completely new to the concept or just want to get hands-on with the technology, this workshop will walk you through the essentials in a fun and interactive way.

You’ll learn how to create simple 3D designs and get a glimpse of how objects are brought to life through a 3D printer. No previous experience is needed, although basic computer skills are preferred.

  • Free event: Yes, that’s right—this event is completely free for Library members. Not a member yet? No problem! Signing up for free library membership is easy and can be done online or in person at any Randwick City Library.

How to Book

  • Bookings are essential, and spaces are limited. You’ll need to register online through Eventbrite, and you can only attend if you’re a library member (don’t forget, membership is free!).
  • Bookings open one month before each session, so make sure to grab your spot early.
  • You can attend multiple sessions, but please note each session will cover the same content.

Terms & Conditions

A few important things to keep in mind before you book:

  • Arrive early: Plan to be there at least 10 minutes before the event starts so everything can run smoothly.
  • Photographs & videos: The event may be digitally recorded (photos and videos), which could be used for promotional purposes. If you’re not comfortable with this, just let the staff know beforehand.
  • Cancel if you can’t attend: If your plans change, please cancel your booking so someone else can take your spot.

This event will run on the first Tuesday of every month until December 2025, so if you miss this one, you can always try again in the future! Each session will cover the same material, so feel free to attend as many as you like.
