Woollahra Council has approved a 6-month trial of BYO alcohol at the Camp Cove Kiosk for its patrons. The trial will run during the kiosk’s operating hours: from lunchtime to 7pm in summer and from lunchtime to 6pm in winter.

This trial will take place from Tuesday 17 December 2024 to Friday 20 June 2025.

The kiosk, located at the stunning Camp Cove beach, offers the opportunity to enjoy the responsible consumption of alcohol on the beach, and the licensee would like to offer patrons the chance to bring their own alcohol to complement the food service.

As part of the trial, the licensee must uphold the Responsible Service of Alcohol provisions of the Liquor Act 2007, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Woollahra Council invites the community to provide feedback on the trial. We welcome your thoughts on the BYO alcohol initiative and whether you think it should become a permanent feature. Please complete the feedback form by 20 June 2025 to share your views.

Next Steps

If no adverse impacts on the community are observed during the trial, Council may consider a permanent amendment to the lease, allowing the service of BYO alcohol at the kiosk in the future.
