Sometimes the most appealing part of a local activity is the people you meet along the way. A shared interest creates a starting point for conversation, and familiar faces can give you another reason to keep coming back.
At Gunyama Run Club in Zetland, running is bringing locals together around a mix of personal goals, encouragement and community connection.
Since launching in March 2026, the club has welcomed runners with different levels of experience. Members trained for this year’s City2Surf together, while some are now looking towards the HOKA Half Marathon in 2027.
Meet the coaches
Behind the sessions are coaches Hanna and Priscila, who bring different experience to the group.
Hanna

Hanna is an experienced group fitness instructor whose approach emphasises encouragement, consistency and enjoying movement.
Priscila

Priscila is a NSW Athletics Certified Running Coach, Coogee Run Club Captain and Girls Run Sydney pacer. Her coaching focuses on helping participants develop their running skills and confidence.
What happens at a session?
The 50-minute outdoor classes include continuous running, interval training and coaching on pacing and technique. Sessions cater to different fitness levels, allowing participants to train at their own pace within a group setting.
For anyone considering a running group, it’s worth thinking about what you would enjoy most: guidance with training, a regular commitment or simply having company while exercising. Your first goal might be trying a session and seeing whether the format suits you.
