Crowd watching a live performance on the outdoor stage at Maroubra Sound Waves 2026.

Finding something your teenager actually wants to do can take a little searching. A relaxed afternoon with friends might appeal more than another organised class, while a budding musician could be looking for somewhere to try recording.

For families exploring local options, Randwick City Council’s youth listings are a useful starting point.

A Voice for Local Young People

Taking part doesn’t have to mean sport or performance. Council’s Youth Advisory Committee gives young people an opportunity to contribute to decisions affecting their community, including the Youth Plan 2026–2031.

Before You Head Along

Ask your young person which option interests them, then contact the organiser together. Check age requirements, registration, transport and current availability before attending.
