Looking for an after-school activity for your teenager? A new free youth drop-in program at PCYC Eastern Suburbs will give young people a place to play basketball, get creative and connect with others.

Starting Tuesday 17 November 2026, PCYC Eastern Suburbs and The Shack are joining forces for Hoops & Connect, a program for young people aged 12–17 years.

Sessions will run on Tuesdays during school terms, from 3.30pm to 6pm, at PCYC Eastern Suburbs in Daceyville, with food and refreshments provided.

Basketball, Creativity and Connection

Under the theme “Play, Connect, Belong”, the program brings together sport, creative activities and opportunities to socialise.

Young people can take part in:

  • Learn-to-play basketball: An opportunity to learn skills and get involved on the court.
  • Arts and crafts: Creative activities for those who enjoy making and trying things.
  • Food and refreshments: Food will be provided during the afternoon.
  • Social connection: Time to meet other young people and connect with program staff.

Whether your teenager enjoys shooting hoops or prefers getting creative, the program offers different ways to get involved.

An After-School Option for Local Teens

Finding activities that appeal to teenagers can take a little trial and error. This new drop-in program gives local young people another option for spending their afternoon with others, being active and taking part in positive activities.

The combination of basketball, arts and crafts, and time to chat means there is more than one reason to come along—and no cost to participate.
