Cirque du Soleil - Kurios

If you’ve never been to a Cirque du Soleil performance then you are MISSING out. These entertainment spectaculars are super engaging and will have your mouth a gasp the entire performance. Luckily for you the circus is now in Sydney town – with Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities currently in residence at The Entertainment Quarter (spot the 62-foot
big top).

The mission of Cirque du Soleil is to invoke imagination, provoke the senses and evoke emotions and this particular show certainly delivers all of the above.

Our 3 top picks of the performance:

Contortion – if you think your yoga classes are improving your flexibility this is going to make you stretch a little further in your downward dog. A collective of ‘electric eels’ bend and position their bodies in a series of pyramids and figures, showcasing their superhuman flexibility.

Rola Bola – wow, just wow. The ‘Aviator’ precariously balances on multiple cylinders and planks on a moving platform. And just to add additional nervousness the platform is suspended, moves up and down and swings. A supreme act of balancing like you’ve never seen before.

Acro Net – featuring two Australian performers these underwater creatures bounce and dive on a huge net across the stage. This is trampoline trickery and expertise at its finest.

The 46 artists from 16 different countries will certainly have you mesmerised and sitting on the edge of your seat. Fab fun for the whole family or a sneaky date night (VIP packages are available to make it extra special).

Performances are at 1.30pm, 4.30pm, 5.00pm and 8.00pm (dependent on day and availability) until December 15th2019.

Tickets start from $50.

VERDICT: Consistent jaw dropping entertainment
