Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east:

A decade; first at The Spot (no kids at that point) and now at Coogee

How many children:

More than I can handle! That’s two. Thomas, 10 and Joseph, 8.

Favourite Park:

There’s plenty to do at Heffron Park. My kids play AFL on the ovals, cricket in the nets, and there is swimming, cycling on a great bike track, and a playground.

Favourite Beach:

The kid’s favourite beach is Coogee because they like the excitement of the waves.

Favourite kid friendly cafe:

The kids have voted: Tropicana’s spaghetti bolognaise.

Favourite Coffee Spot:

Hands down, best coffee in Coogee is Café de France in Carr St with the friendliest waitress. Say hi to Patricia

Favourite date night place:

No need to leave Coogee: Sugarcane has beautiful Asian food: fresh raw fish and delicious curry. They have a kids menu as well.

Favourite Local Day Out Activity:

For the kids – going to watch the Swannies play at the SCG and eating pies and chips.

Favourite Local Shop:

My kids are big fans of the honeybee smoothie at Melonhead in Coogee.

Favourite wet weather location:

The Ritz Cinema is such a lovely, character-filled cinema at The Spot. We like to go there and visit Four Frogs Creperie at the same time.

Describe an ideal day in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for you?

For me an ideal day would be doing the ocean walk to Clovelly, followed by lunch at the Lion & Buffalo café and an unscheduled afternoon (I can dream).
With the family, our Saturdays are good fun – the kids play in 3 AFL games and, after that, we have a pizza and movie (Harry Potter is a fave).

What area of the east have you yet to explore much but would like to?

There are still lots of places we have yet to explore:diving at Gordon’s Bay, the walks south of Maroubra Beach, the beaches on the east side of the harbor.

Work or SAHM:

I work locally at The Kidman Centre in the
Prince of Wales hospital. It’s a mental health treatment and research centre for kids and teens. We have a community psychology clinic where our psychologists
see children with anxiety, low mood, behavior problems and other common childhood issues.

Motherly advice:

Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is looking!
