Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east: I’ve lived in Paddington and Surry Hills and CBD on and off for the last 20 years or so. I’ve spent some time in London and New York during that time too but have always come back to the East.
How many children: Two.
Favourite Park: Would have to be Centennial just for the all the variety there. Bat walks, bike tracks, pony rides, wet play, great cafes….I’ve spent so much time there!
Favourite Beach: Parsley Bay was a favourite when my two were little and we’d spend hours down there every morning. It just seemed like a little oasis and great for a splash.
Favourite kid friendly cafe: Queens Park Kitchen – also gated playground!
Favourite Coffee Spot: Kawa in Surry Hills.
Favourite date night place: Dead Ringer, Surry Hills.
Favourite Local Day Out Activity: We love to stroll around Hyde Park and can’t wait for the Australian Museum to reopen. If only Hyde Park had a playground!
Favourite Local Shop: Oscar and Friends Bookstore.
Favourite wet weather location: Art Gallery of NSW or The Australian Museum. Riding the light rail into the city from Randwick or Surry Hills is also fun.
Describe an ideal day in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for you? All on foot strolling or light rail hopping with some dumplings and art thrown in. We’re looking forward to seeing the Van Gogh exhibition at Moore Park next month.
What area of the east have you yet to explore much but would like to? Probably more of Maroubra.
Work or SAHM: A mixture of the two, freelancing photography means I can mix it to suit family life.
Motherly advice: Fresh air saves lives!
ESM offer: Mention Easterns Suburbs Mums 10% off weekday bookings.
