OUR JOURNEY BEGAN IN 2013
Will & Co started in 2013 when three lifelong mates set out to combine two of the best things Australia has to offer – its coastal lifestyle and thriving cafe culture.
THEY SET OUT TO CREATE THE PERFECT BLEND TO ACCOMPANY THEIR EARLY MORNING SURFS
A finely balanced cup with perfect sweetness and a silky-smooth finish. They dubbed it “808”, after the Roland TR-808 electronic drum machine that revolutionised hip-hop music in the 80s. Things started off small, supplying 808 to friend’s cafes like North Bondi’s Porch & Parlour (still pouring 808 today) and collaborating with local artists (still a massive passion of ours) capturing the craft and the artisan cultural movement happening across Australia at the time.
A YEAR OR SO LATER...
They put some skin in the game and opened their first pop-up cafe above a surf store on Bondi’s Hall Street which was created to bring the local community together over A-grade specialty coffee. The laid-back space was an artistic haven, fusing coffee, coastal lifestyle, and art, and quickly became a hangout for locals and the buzz around 808 grew.
