Plastic Surgery is the discipline of restorative surgery, and should aim to achieve superior, sophisticated results that restore and enhance optimal form and function.
After starting a double degree of Bachelor of Medical Science/Bachelor of Laws, Dr Taylor knew her passion was Medicine, and in particular, Surgery. She finished her Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours in Pharmacology and went on to receive her medical degree with Honours from the University of Sydney. She then completed two years of junior doctor training before gaining acceptance into an advanced surgical training program. She embarked on eight years of advanced surgical training which included three years of General Surgery and five years of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, achieving fellowship to the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2018.
Fully trained in all areas of Plastic Surgery, Dr Taylor specialises in cosmetic, restorative and reconstructive surgery of body the breast, (breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, breast reconstruction, implant revision) and the body (tummy tuck, body lift, arm lift, thigh lift, body contouring) as well as complex skin cancer surgery and facial surgery (eyelid surgery, facelift, facial nerve reconstruction). She also enjoys providing bespoke non-surgical treatments for skin and facial rejuvenation.
Dr Taylor is one of very few, female Plastic Surgeons in Sydney, who offers the full range of breast reconstruction techniques. Following her training, Dr Taylor travelled to the Leon Bérard Cancer Centre in Lyon, France, to learn advanced fat grafting techniques with Dr Emmanuel Delay, the President of the French Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and a world pioneer and expert in fat grafting. Fat grafting techniques are broadly applicable in Plastic Surgery, but particularly advantageous for breast reconstruction, congenital breast deformity (asymmetrical breasts) and breast implant removal as well as facial surgery, irradiated skin, scars and other soft tissue defects.
Dr Taylor worked as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Westmead Public Hospital for 2.5 years where she performed complex cancer and trauma reconstruction for the body from head-to-toe, including breast, head and neck, upper and lower limb, in addition to skin cancer surgery, maxillofacial surgery and hand surgery. Dr Taylor now works exclusively in private practice consulting in North Sydney, Potts Point and Westmead. She operates at multiple private hospitals across Sydney.
